Dealing with Spam

Hey folks!

I realize that everyone's been getting a lot of messages over the past few weeks/months/years from events from this group, some of which you don't really care about.

My solution is this: If you want info about a specific type of event: Board Games, Dungeons and Dragons, or Magic the Gathering - send me (Kyle) a message, and I will add you to a specific distribution list.

I'll keep my send outs to a limited population of people this way, and hopefully not bug the hell out of you.


In addition, new memberships are going to be available this Friday! Yay!

Elections are going to be the last Friday of the month. There are four positions you can apply for: President, Treasurer, V.P. Boardgames and V.P. RPGs.

I wonder how things are going to go.

Needed: A few things: I have created some posters, but I am waiting for a few certain companies to reply with permission to use their licensed pictures/properties.

We need more dungeon masters, so we can host most LFR days. Recuitment campaign, anyone?

I also think we need a new logo, something to brighten the visual identity of our group. Or perhaps retrofit our old one to accomodate our growing needs?

Website woes again? - Reformation of myself and my work

Dear Ian,



As you are probably the only person who is reading this blog, this entry is dedicated to you. Happy New Year.



Okay. So, things might not have been going as well as could have been hoped. In fact, my entire presidency may have been a sham. I will admit, things have not gone as smoothly as I would have hoped - and this may be due to my rather complicated lifestyle of leaving things to the last minute, hoping for the best.



So, what I have done is gotten organized. Outlook, Blackberry, schedules, you name it, I am probably using it. And that means the club gets to have its time in the spotlight as well.



As you may or may not know, I am the Magic geek in the club. So I put a bunch of time to that end of things, and a bit into Dungeons and Dragons. And not so much time into boardgames. Which is a problem, and one I intend to rectify.



For inspiration, I have been reading Dormitories and Dragons.. and got distracted from writing this post.

Website Woes

So, apparently officelive is not the most user-friendly of methods for configuring websites. The same old URL (www.uogc.ca) now redirects to a google site. Cool, eh?
